Dj Big Bob

I want to Thank God....also John and Joi who came up with the idea....They picked me to Dj the event in 1996. Us together set the foundation for what some of the Skate Parties are doing today and Sk8-A-Thon became an household name in the Skate World. I played at every Sk8-A-Thon since 1996 and I'm looking forward into playing at The 25th Annaul International Joi's Sk8-Thon ( The Sliver Edition). Thank you Joi for your Love and Friendship!!! One Love, One Skate!!!

My name is Brian Taylor, aka Killa B. I have offically been a part oj Joi's Sk8-A-Thon muscially since 2007 at the age of 15. My first official National roller skating event that I played. Dj Big Bob provided me with 15 minutes that changed my life forever! This will be year 13 and I'm beyond proud to see where Sk8-A-Thon has blossom into. Sending love to the visionary and hostess of the International event, Ms Joi and her Team. They worked tirelessly to provide a top notched event for us all. We salute and honor you all for your service.I started off playing at the Meet and Greet and then transitioned to the Friday night event. The last couple years I have held the Main Event-Staurday night down with Dj Soulnificent and it's been a true honor. 2020 Sk8-A-Thon is upon us and I can't wait to be a part of this spectacular event.

Dj Rob "Showtime" Hunter

In the spring of 1996 I remember a guy at our Sunday night session in Cincinnati, OH, gave me a flier to a skate party in Atlanta. He said "you have skills and you should check this out". I remember driving down I-75 South thinking I was going to show out and show everyone in Atlanta how to skate. As I walked into the rink, the Dj (Big Bob) was playing "No Diggity" by Blackstreet. The floor was so packed you could not see the wood! The skills and the skate love I saw on the floor that night left me speechless and humbled....I was hooked.

Over the years I have had the opportunity to Dj (2006, 2007 and 2008) and I've also helped Joi working various jobs during her event and most importantly, I've met great people that have become lifetime friends.

Dj Joe Bowen

My first year deejaying Joi's Sk8-A-Thon was 2010 for the 15th Annual. I played the Friday night Welcome Dance Party at The Westin Hotel. Since then, I've played almost every night and almost every rink over the past ten years. I am truly Humbled and Blessed to continue being a part of the Dj line up for such an amazing event.

Happy 25th Anniversary to Joi's Sk8-A-Thon

My first Sk8-A-Thon was 2004/05. I was HOOKED! Labor Day weekend was cleared every year after that so I could attend Sk8-A-Thon in Atlanta, GA. The experience has always been the same...Family Bonding for people from all over the world, UNITED for the passion of roller skating. Sk8-A-Thon offers the diversity of Rinks, Venues and Skaters.A few years later I was aked by Dj Spin to play one of the Meet & Greets with him. Later that evening, I was approached by the Queen Of The South herself (Joi) and asked if I could play Sunday night at Golden Glide. I was of course Ecstatic and Honored to play with The Legendary Dj Big Bob and excited to play such a huge event as Sk8-A-Thon. Yeah, I was nervous and still have the 'jitters' every function I play but my Main focus is The Skaters!

Sk8-A-Thon has provided opportunties for me as well as MANY others. My only regret is that I wasn't there from the beginning.

CONGRATULATIONS Ms. Joi on a major milestone WELL deserved 25 years of excellence. Thank you for the opportunity and Continued Blessings.

Love Dj Arson aka The Firestarter

I've been in love with music my whole life, I, Antonio McPherson better known as Dj T-Smooth started Djing at the age of fifteen. I'm from Kalamazoo, MI and I live in Norcross, GA for the past fifteen years. I started attending Sk8-A-Thon in 2014 to skate. I was asked to Dj at Sk8-A-Thon in 2017 at Skate Along USA. Truly been a blessing to get to that level. It took hard work and dedication and I'm blessed to be a part of Sk8-A-Thon.

" As a skater from Europe it is always special to skate in America...the energy, the rinks, the music, the crowds. Attending Joi's Sk8-A-Thon last year for the first time was a next level experience though. I believe what gives this particular event it's special vibes is that there's a woman behind the concept. Joi is very personable and makes it her business to shake hands with all of her guests and put names and faces together as much as she can.

My first time was at the 24th (2019) edition and I could tell that the event was a well-oiled machine. It is quite an achievement to entertain so many people for all those years particularly since the skate scene nowadays is so divers in ages and cateories.

I can't wait for the 25th edition to find out how Joi plans to celebrate this milestone with us. I plan to arrive in Atlanta a few days before the event. I want to be fully rested so jet-lag cannot get the better of me!
